db technologies BV designed a plant to sort and prepare municipal waste to extract recyclables, create refuge derived fuel and prepare biological waste for digestion for the city Ventspils in Latvia. The incoming municipal waste is separated by a press extruder into a wet organic fraction and dry non-organic fraction. Because of the very high pressure used in this process the organic fraction is prepared for fermentation to create biogas. The dry fraction is disposed of minerals and metals after which refuge derived fuel or recyclables remain. The plant was delivered in September 2012.
The tyre metering plant with container loading system at GCA Marseille transports and shreds used car tyres and loads containers. The facility was successfully taken into operation by db technologies BV in autumn 2014.
The shredded used car tyres are not only used as fuel, but also as a resource for producing cement. By burning the high caloric tyres, heat is generated for the production of cement, whereas the remainder of the burnt tyres is a resource for cement.

db technologies BV has received a European grant to accelerate the market uptake of its innovative separation and cleaning system that radically improves the quality of bio-waste stemming from Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and separate bio-waste collection. Through this eco-innovative process, bio-waste can be effectively recycled and used in anaerobic digestion instead of losing valuable organic material through incineration or landfilling.
For an expedition company in Klazienaveen we designed a transfer system that opens big bags with various coals, mixes these for charcoal production after which the charcoal is loaded on trucks.
For a waste management company in Slough, near Heathrow airport, db technologies BV designed and delivered a sorting and conveying system. The system consists of a glass breaker and an extraction system to separate glass from paper and plastics, an OCC screen to sort out cardboard from the incoming material and a transport system for plastics with suction hoods.
